dc.description.abstract The world is witnessing today many denominations with different brand names as a result of the rapid increase in schism or church breakaway. The work deals basically with the analysis of the causes of church split and the various remedies that the church can use to solve the issue. The study also deals with the factors that led to the split of Kumasi branch of the Christian Life Centre church in 2001, and its implications for the church. The Pentecostal and Charismatic churches could be sited as the area where church breakaway can be witnessed the most. Qualitative method of approach was employed in this work. This kind of research was by definition, the systematic and objective observation, evaluation and synthesis of evidence in order to establish facts and draw conclusions about past events. The study was conducted using both primary and secondary data. The data collection instruments used was questionnaires Findings of the study reviewed various epochs through which the church has developed and the issues that led to the split in the church. The study also found out that the actual issue that led to the split of the church was purely monetary in nature. This is because it was as a result of inappropriate handling of church funds. en_US
