Abstract:
The study explored the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in journalism and teacher education, focusing on the
opportunities it offers and the ethical challenges it presents. It also investigated whether AI can enhance the quality
of these fields. Using an exploratory research design, the study aimed to gain deeper insights into this under
researched area. A simple random sampling method was used to gather data from 400 participants, including 200
journalists and 200 teachers from colleges of education in the Bono Region of Ghana. The findings revealed that 40%
of respondents strongly believe AI has significant potential to improve both journalism and teacher education, while
10% of respondents emphasized the importance of industry-academia collaboration to address AI's challenges. Based
on these findings, the study recommends comprehensive, structured AI training programmes, particularly for those in
journalism and education, as 40% of respondents reported having only basic AI training.
