Abstract: | Gherk leather Works Company limited is a local manufacturer of leather products (sandals and slipper) and plans to locate its business site at Jena in the Tamale (Northern Region). Its sales outlets will be in Kumasi. Gherk will begin its operations in August 2012 and it will be registered under Ghana’s company Code 1963, Act 179. The company is a small enterprise with a total capital of GH¢ 100,000.00. This funding is provided by principal stakeholders. |
Description: | Gherk Leather Works Ltd finds itself in an industry that consist of many but smaller scale operators. The company is engaged in the provision of leather products such as sandals and slippers. Since they are made on a small scale, it is usually meant to suit ones specification if possible or if required. However, a significant percentage of materials for making the product in relation to the industry are imported. The market in the industry is fairly competitive. There are therefore no restrictions to entry or exit. There is strong competition and challenge in the leather industry. Gherk Leather Works Ltd in its quest to win the market will customize its products on demand to meet customer’s specification. |
