The colonial administrators, as far back as 1910, ensured that financial as well as qualitative records within the various enterprises were audited in Ghana institutions to ensure the efficient management of their resources.en_US

The objectives of the study are therefore to evaluate the contribution of internal audit to financial discipline in financial institutions and to determine the level of independence of the internal audit unit. Questionnaires and interviews were the main instruments used in the idea of data collection for the study. The data were analyzed and presented.en_US
