In order to provide better health services there should be proper financial management in the health sectors. The aim of the founders of the National Health Services (NHS) was that, the state should care for its citizens. Its establishment involved the compulsory take-over of almost all health provision in the country. The relevant literature was reviewed. The study adopted the descriptive survey since the study was a case study. Both purposive and convenient sampling methods were used. Data were collected through questionnaire and interview. The collected data were analysed using SPSS. This work was able to find out the various sources of funding to the hospitals in the Kumasi Metropolis. These included internally generated funds, donor pool funds, Government of Ghana subventions and financial encumbrance. The study also discovered the financial control mechanisms that are used in the hospitals. It also proposed strategies for improving financial management in the hospitals.en_US
