NOVAS Farms Limited started as a small enterprise in vegetable cultivation with few farm hands on an acre plot of land in Boadi in 2002. It was then called Green Farms. Since the vegetables were perishable goods and the market was unpredictable, Green Farms started to look at ways of diversifying and increasing its operations. In 2011, it sought expert advice from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), Ghana. It was from this time that Green Farms considered the cultivation of mushrooms.en_US
